Welcome to Hotel Torino
Hotel Torino stands as a charming gem nestled in the heart of La Paz, Bolivia, offering visitors an authentic experience steeped in local culture and history. With a solid rating of 3.8, this hotel delivers a simple yet memorable stay that captures the essence of the city’s colonial past.
Located at GV38+G5H in Socabaya, near the bustling Plaza Murillo, Hotel Torino is perfectly positioned for those eager to explore La Paz’s renowned attractions like the Witches’ Market and the Coca Museum. Guests appreciate the hotel’s unique blend of lodging, gastronomy, and cultural events, which come alive within its well-preserved colonial courtyard—a sanctuary that transports visitors back in time.
The accommodation itself is modest but affordable, especially for travelers conscious of their budget. As noted by Jeams Young, the price is competitive, making it an excellent alternative to typical hostels. While some facilities, such as shared bathrooms, could benefit from more frequent cleaning, the overall value speaks volumes for the adventurous guest.
Beyond the rooms, Hotel Torino shines with its cafe and restaurant offerings. Its coffee shop enchants guests with a nostalgic 1950s European ambiance, serving delectable dishes at reasonable prices. The culinary scene here strikes a harmonious balance—traditional Bolivian flavors meet refined artistry. Diners like Adam Solano and Hugo find the lunch selections and pasta dishes exceptional, affirming the restaurant as a repeat favorite and a cultural hub within the city.
Service at Hotel Torino is notably warm and accommodating, with staff willing to bridge language gaps and welcome travelers from around the globe. The hotel’s small exhibitions and artistic events add layers of depth to the experience, making it more than just a place to stay—it’s a rendezvous with La Paz’s spirit.
While the hotel lacks amenities such as a swimming pool or fitness center, it compensates by embracing a kid-friendly atmosphere and providing free Wi-Fi, making it both practical and inviting. The cultural programs and museum pieces enrich the stay, making it ideal for visitors desiring an immersive journey into the city’s past and present.
In sum, Hotel Torino is a heartfelt ode to La Paz’s heritage—a modest sanctuary that offers nourishment for the body and soul alike. It entices travelers not just to rest, but to savor the rhythms of a city alive with tradition and warmth.

50B for a single room (sharing toilet and shower room), which is cheaper than most of hostel( which you got only 1 bed) in La Paz. For me it's Perfect, even the toilet need to be cleaned much more often.
Simple hotel in the city centre with a cultural programme once in a while
Its Coffee Shop is very nice. Its prices are not too high and the food is very good. Just one defect, they don't have ql what they say in their menu.
This is a review only for the restaurant. This place is one of my absolute favorite places for lunch in Bolivia. The lunches they have are of very high standard and the setting is beautiful inside this colonial yard. A place I go to over and over again.
This is a review for the small cafe as part of the Hotel Torino, which has a separate entrance on the street. As a European the whole atmosphere is like you are on a movie set for a film set in the 1950-ies. And the food is very tasty and at a bargain. Had a Pasta Bolognese and Trucha on another occasion. Service very friendly and patient (my very limited Spanish isn’t helpful). My favorit in La Paz so far.
